Week 3 artists with their instructors, Mr. Brian (Drawing), Mrs. Rad (Sculpture), & Mr. Jason (Painting)
Sculpture teacher Mrs. Rad taught students how to create ceramic mugs based on an imagined time machine that students decorated in creative ways.
In drawing class students learned about the painter Jasper Johns and created artwork inspired by him using letter stencils and detailed patterns.
In painting, students let their imagination run wild, painting portraits of animals at work, themselves as superheroes, alien landscapes, and more!
In drawing students learned about the artist Mateo Pizarro and created animal mash up drawings inspired by his artwork.
Students learned about contemporary artist Yayoi Kussama, famous for her whimsical dotted sculptures. They created mini cactus sculptures inspired by her artwork.
Families enjoyed looking at all the impressive artwork created during the week at the Friday Art Show.
Week 3 campers had a great time at camp, making friends, creating art and signing each other’s new art aprons!
