Painting Florals with Sue Hunter

Learn to capture the vibrancy of flowers in this floral painting class. Sue will teach students what makes a good reference image and lead students through tips and tricks for incorporating flowers in their artwork.

Whether you are interested in adding flowers to a landscape or want to focus on creating a realistic still life this class will guide you through mark-making techniques that convey the texture of the petals, color-mixing tips to get the perfect colors, and insight on the important details that make a painting unique. Sue will tailor discussions and demonstrations to the needs of each student.

Some reference images will be provided, but students are also invited to bring reference images of their choosing as well as the supplies for the media they wish to work in.

LANDSCAPE PAINTING with Sue Hunter

Using line, shapes and values to design exciting landscapes. Learn to limit your brushstrokes for a painterly look. Students will learn to use harmonizing colors, to mix colors, edit picture before painting, solve problems and simplify their paintings.

We will paint trees, rocks, mountains, clouds, skies and water and anything else students desire. All painting mediums welcome. A suggested supply list will be sent but bring what you have.

Oil and Cold Wax with Bela Fidel

Ready to loosen up and let your creativity flow? Join us for a relaxed, hands-on workshop and dive into the lush world of cold wax and oil paints. Cold wax medium is a buttery, beeswax-based paste that mingles beautifully with oil colors. It encourages experimentation—scraping back, adding layers, embedding marks and collage—all without the long drying times or rigid rules of traditional oil painting.
