ABSTRACT PAINTING with Bela Fidel
In this four-week class students will learn the most important principles of painting: Design, Value, Color, Line and ancillary elements that give life to an abstract painting.
Painting in the abstract style requires a reliance on innermost vision, authenticity and feeling.Yes, this also applies to Representational painting but the latter offers an exterior image on which to base a vision. Painting Abstract makes artists delve into the recesses of their souls for a truthful and authentic depiction in shapes, values, color, mark-making, etc.
This class will address the technical aspects as well as the personal/feeling resources students go to when creating from the inside out. Join this rewarding adventure and acquire solid and important technical information as well as discover how to play and transform it into a personal, authentic voice. During this class students will also learn how to create a concertina sketchbook and learn about the role of a sketchbook in the development of art. In addition, students will learn how to make their own mark-making brushes and how to incorporate mark-making into abstract paintings. This course is comprehensive and will guide students’ artistic and technical development in a friendly and creative atmosphere.
