Shemer To Open July 6 for Students, August 4 for the Public!

With continuous safety protocols and systems in place, the Shemer Art Center has announced the start of in-person classes July 6, and a planned re-opening date for the public of August 4, 2020.

Originally scheduled for July 6, the public opening was pushed back in response to the continued increase in reported COVID-19 cases.

“Our classrooms are small. So by limiting the sizes of our classes to six students in a room with an instructor, with our safety protocols in place, we are able to provide a safe environment for our students to begin returning to the Shemer and their art.”

All students, as well as visitors to the Shemer Art Center starting August 4, will be required to wear a face mask and follow the Shemer’s posted safety guidelines. Staff members will enforce social distancing protocols, limiting access to the gift shop and managing the handling of all displayed artwork.
