MK-07-18 Intro to Asian Brush Painting with Martha Klare

INTRO TO ASIAN BRUSH PAINTING with Martha Klare

If you’ve ever had an interest in Asian Brush Painting or need to revisit the basics, this is the workshop for you.  Relax as you create and learn about this meditative and spontaneous art.  We will explore the basics of  using three simple yet versatile materials (bamboo brush, ink and paper) to create a variety of effects.

The art of brush painting is a wonderful way to enhance your well being.  In this workshop you will discover the power of being present while also honing your mind/body coordination.  Each piece you create is a reflection of your unique  energy or spirit (ch’i) in that moment of time and can never be repeated.

This workshop is the perfect foundation for students interested in continuing their skills and registering for the Asian Brush Painting Studio series.

Martha Klare has been practicing brush painting for over 25 years and has studied under several masters both in the US and in China; her work is collected internationally.

0426-BF-18 Textures in Encaustic with Bela Fidel

TEXTURES IN ENCAUSTIC with Bela Fidel

In this class Bela brings her experience with many textural techniques incorporating art and non-art related materials and guides students in the incorporation of these materials with Encaustics. Some of the techniques consist of using pure Encaustics in an original way to create special textures. Students will be guided to express their interest in texture by combining different materials and learning how each one of them finds a special place in the Encaustic creation.

This six hour class will expand your creative horizons in an atmosphere of fun, relaxation and free creativity.  It will inspire you to create in a different way and will enrich your work in other mediums.
