DW-93-22 Glaze Intensive Workshop with Danielle Wood

In this workshop students will have the opportunity to test glazes on previously fired bisque-ware.  Bisque-ware from previous classes will be a prefect canvas for testing glazes.  Students will keep track of what glazes have been used with a glaze notebook and underglaze pencil.  In the first day of the workshop students can make some sculptures or functional forms that can dry quickly to be bisqued for the second day of the workshop.  On the second day of the workshop students can review their results and then glaze the artwork they have made from the previous week with their newly tested glazes.  During the workshop students can also experiment with paper transfers on greenware, cone five glazes, underglazes, oxide and mason stain washes.  This workshop will lay an excellent foundation for future classes during the spring, guiding students through creating a palette of glazes to work from.  Bring your creativity and enthusiasm for glaze experimentation!
