JKM-16-20 Ceramic Figure Sculpture with Jane Kelsey-Mapel

This class will be an exciting exploration of the human and/or animal form in clay. Jane will discuss basic anatomy and structure and will demonstrate both hand building and traditional modeling techniques to create studies of heads, hands and torsos. Surface finishes will include the use of underglazes, stains and glazes.

The ultimate goal of this class is for students to have fun while learning about clay, the figure and developing their own personal style. Note: live models will not be used, students may work from photographs and/or their imagination.
