About the Juror:

Bonnie studied history and secondary education at Temple University and later received a Masters in Art Education at Arizona State University. After teaching art in the Mesa Arizona elementary school district for three years, she became Director of Education at the Arizona Museum for Youth, where as the art museum educator, she assisted in the design of museum exhibitions and development of educational programs for children.

In 1985 she started Painted Desert Art & Cultural Tours, a company that organized and led art and architecture tours in the U.S. and throughout the world, which she ran for over 22 years. Bonnie has studied fine art and taken many art workshops at Penland School of Crafts, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Scottsdale Community College, Art Intersection, Art Academy of San Diego, the Athenaeum School of the Arts, and of course, Shemer Art Center.

Her work is mainly figurative and narrative, combining elements of painting and collage.  She also layers sheer fabrics over collaged figures to create a new depth of mystery. Currently she is printing photographs onto canvas and painting and/or sewing on them to tell whimsical stories.
