Clay Camp with Amanda Adkins

In this class students will receive one-on-one instruction in clay. Students will work to expand their knowledge by participating in various assignments tailored for where they are on their personal journey with clay. Students will have the opportunity to learn the basics of hand building and learning about glazing techniques and will get to go home with several beautiful finished projects. Whether this is their first class, they are familiar with the basics, or they are interested in learning advanced techniques, this class offers an opportunity to grow as a budding, young artist.

Wild about wildlife and art? This is the perfect week for campers who love animals and want to capture the beauty of wildlife in their art. Creating artwork inspired by creatures big and small, campers will have a wild time creating a whole zoo of artwork.

Daily instruction for children and teens ages 6 – 13 will be offered from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Classes will include drawing, painting, ceramics, and sculpture each taught by professional artists and instructors, with an Art Show on the last day!  Students will be grouped by age and abilities, and they should plan to bring a lunch, snack and water bottle each day. Masks can be worn if desired, but are not mandated.

Please be sure to call the Shemer Art Center with questions or if you need assistance registering your budding artists!

Space will be limited, to keep class sizes small.  Once full, a waiting list will be available on our website.

We are also currently considering “before” and “after” Summer Camp hours, as options for working parents…. so let us know your needs.
