Sculpting Heads with Headdresses in Clay and Mixed Media with Jane Kelsey-Mapel

This class will give students the opportunity to create both faces for the wall and free standing head sculptures that are embellished with clay and/or mixed media headdresses. Basic anatomy and proportion will be discussed and a variety of hand building, modeling and surface decoration techniques will be introduced. The class will also be making a field trip to collect mixed media materials (place, day and time to be determined).

Prerequisite:  Beginning level class in handbuilding

Thursdays, March 13 – May 8, 2025 | No class March 27 |1:00 – 4:00 pm | 8 sessions  |  $304, plus $15 studio fee (required), $20+ for clay (if purchased through Shemer)
