Human and Animal Figures as Containers with Jane Kelsey-Mapel

This class will explore creating human and animal figures in clay that are also containers. Using handbuilding and modeling techniques, you could turn your favorite animal into a teapot. A human head could become a drinking cup or a torso could be formed into a flower vase. Surface decoration techniques will include using underglazes on wet and bisque fired clay to create pattern and color along with cone five glazes.

Prerequisite:  Beginning level class in handbuilding
