HYBRID CLASS: Exploring Handbuilding with Danielle Wood *

This class provides ceramic students with a great foundation for exploring handbuilding and sculpture. In this class there will be opportunities to explore various techniques such as pinch pots, coil building, slab forms, pillow forms, slump molds, and drape molds. Students will also learn about glazing with cone 5/6 glazes, low fire glazes, crawl glazes, textured glazes, lusters, paper transfers, and decals. The class will explore sculptural and functional forms in clay through the various techniques of handbuilding. Techniques will be taught each week or students may decide to work independently with advice and feedback from the instructor. This is a great class to continue to experiment in handbuilding and learn more about sculpture in clay.

Skill Level: Some Ceramic Experience Encouraged
