Exploring Handbuilding and Potter’s Wheel Techniques with Danielle Wood 

In this class students will have the opportunity to explore both handbuilding techniques as well as fundamental wheel approaches to throwing on the potter’s wheel. Techniques that will be explored in handbuilding include pinch pots, coil pots, slab work, drape, slump molds, pillow forms, and press molds. Students will also have the opportunity to explore color in glazing using cone 5 & 6 glazes. Students will also be encouraged to try layering glazes starting with engobes and underglazes, building up color on their pieces with various textures. New techniques will be offered each class, but students can also bring projects they would like to explore further. Bring your creativity, exploring handbuilding and potter’s wheel techniques.
