Mary is an education, arts, and sustainability professional currently serving as the Project Coordinator for ASU’s HeatReady Initiatives and the Center for Innovation in Informal STEM Learning (CIISL). With dual bachelor’s degrees in Sustainability and Art History from Arizona State University, she creates tailored learning experiences that engage communities in meaningful conversations around the intersections of art, environment, and society.

This lecture will delve into how Rossetti blended poetry, myth, and symbolism to challenge Victorian norms and redefine 19th-century art. Through quintessential works such as Beata Beatrix and Proserpine, the lecture will examine how Rossetti’s vision of beauty, emotion, and storytelling reshaped the boundaries of artistic expression and left an indelible mark on the worlds of art and literature.
