MINIATURE IKEBANA with Ping Wei
Miniature ikebana was first introduced by the second head master of Sogetsu school Ikebana, Kasumi Teshigahara. It is composed of several ikebana works that feature particular, small parts of plants.
In this workshop students will observe carefully the different parts of the plant including its petals, pistils and stamen, fruits, leaves, branches and stems, to make new discoveries of their distinctive appearance.
Learn a new technique for flower arranging just in time to impress your family and friends with your holiday table decor. Students will have the opportunity to make several Ikebana arrangements (five or more) in this way of careful observation, and learn how to display them on a base plate, a tray, a piece of Japanese paper, or a table center in a way that a movement or a flow is felt by the way they are arranged.
Flowers and set of five small ceramic containers by artist instructor Ping Wei will be provided for you (a value of $60) to keep.
