In Week 2 of Summer Camp students learned about all the possible jobs artists can have. Our Summer Campers learned about famous artists throughout history as well as contemporary artists working in Phoenix and around the world today. Twenty-four kids, ages 6-13, explored the possibilities of being a professional artist and let their creativity guide them in making one-of-a-kind art projects.

In painting, students learned about being an architect and used 2-point perspective to design a dream house and used watercolor techniques to make it their own.
Campers learned about the artist Salvador Dali and created melting clocks using ceramics inspired by Dali’s painting, The Persistence of Memory.
Students became curators selecting one painting from class with Mr. Jason and using what they learned about perspective in drawing class to draw an art gallery in which to display their painting.
In drawing class students created imaginary businesses and became graphic designers creating eye-catching designs for their companies.
