The 2024 Furry Friends Fine Arts Festival was held Saturday, Feburary 24th, with specialty artists, vendors, our signature Book Shop, and over 400 visitors.  It was the purr-fect day for sharing art, introducing artists and providing entertainment!

Thank you to all of our Festival Artists, Vendors, Volunteers, and Attendees, including all of the Furry Friends!

Along with Furry Friends contests, shown above, the festival also featured opportunities for visitors to

interact with our Artists and Author-Illustrators, to learn about their art process and the unique qualities of their work.

Glass Artist Kristin Mickelson (left), answers questions about working with glass.

Author-Illustrators, Rita Golder and Michael Hale, explain their approach to writing and illustration for their many animal-themed picture books.

Another great feature of our 2024 Furry Friends event was the continuation of our printmaking demonstrations, which give event attendees the chance to use print-making equipment to create their own take-home art.

Pictured above, Shemer Art Center Instructor, Larry Nisula, assists a young artist with a printmaking project.

Larry teaches adult Printmaking and Beginning and Intermediate Jewelry Making classes on an ongoing schedule.

We would also like to thank our instructors Elliot Everson and Sue Hunter for their demonstrations at the Shemer Booth! If you’re interested in their classes, use the links below to view their upcoming classes.

We’re lucky to have a wonderful family of Shemer Volunteers. Above, two Shemer students and volunteers Jane and Jan Brunn show a young festival goer how to use tools like a brayer and printing press.

As you can see, it was a day full of art and animal fun for our neighbors, visitors and the entire Phoenix art community.  Thank you to all who participated!
