About the Event

The Furry Friends Fine Arts Festival will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017 on the lawn of the Shemer Art Center from 8am – 2pm.  This fun, animal-themed arts festival will feature an amazing group of juried Arizona artists (see below) showcasing paintings, drawings, ceramics, metals, mosaics and more! There will be pet readings and the Arizona Humane Society’s Waggin’ Wheels will be on hand, joining Woofs, Wiggles & Wags to offer pets for adoption.  There will be live music, food vendors including Black Cat Coffee House, and more!

Juried Artists whose works will be on display:  Andrea Rogers, Ann Marie Hoff, Bonnie Schweihs, Charlotte Moore, Dadra Hunt, David Hanson, Giva Solana, Jules Gissler, Shaunte Lauren, Susan Feder, and Tonya Eckerman.

Businesses that provide items or services for pets, including but not limited to groomers, trainers, photographers, veterinarians and animal clinics, accupuncture, aromatherapy, massage therapy, even bakeries and restaurants with dog-friendly patios, will be participating in this event, which is estimated to draw families and animal lovers in Arcadia and the surrounding areas, and support a great art center!

“The Shemer is my FAVORITE Art Museum in Phoenix! They have a Furry Friends day where they have artists who have dog & cat art exhibits. It is an amazing day, and so wonderful to be around artists & people who love pets. The Shemer building is amazing for a gallery and the location is perfect. Pair that with fine curating and shows that are relevant and full of talent makes Shemer a win-win. If you have an afternoon you want to relax and enjoy art, Shemer Gallery will not disappoint. “
