It truly was a “happy” hour at the Shemer last night when Michel Sarda, Art Renaissance
Initiative, presented a wonderful learning and listening experience. His presentation on
the 1800’s The Piano Century offered a wonderful alternative to the vice-presdential
debate. The time spent enjoying the wonderful music of Beethoven, Schubert, Liszt,
Chopin, Schumann, Brahms, and Debussy was inspiring. Attendees especially enjoyed
Vladimir Horowitz playing Reverie op 15 by Schumann and Brahms’ Valse op. 39
performed by Bruno-Leonardo Gelber.
Make it part of your month to enjoy these terrific presentations. Upcoming lectures include
the history of Opera and Rodin, the sculptor.
