VIRTUAL CLASS - BUILDING A BODY OF WORK IN CERAMICS with Danielle Wood
In this class, students will be encouraged to focus on a body of work, exploring themes and forms they like to use for their ceramic artwork. A variety of different handbuilding ideas and techniques will be presented with different sculpture building methods. Students can bring a work in progress, a project they have in mind or try a new technique presented in class.
The students will have the opportunity to try out different forms using slab work, coiling, pinch pots, press molds, drape, and slump molds. Students will have the opportunity to work with cone 5 glazes, paper transfers, decals, lusters, nichrome and kanthal wire. Group and individual discussions and demonstrations will be available based on developing needs of the students. In this class students will be encouraged to explore new ways of working in the themes of their artwork and trying out new techniques. Bring your creativity!
Skill Level: Some Ceramic Experience Encouraged
Clay Request: *If clay is not requested it will be assumed that no clay is needed.
