Press molding can create interesting forms and texture in a student’s artwork. It is often used for texture that will add precision and intricacy to an artist’s work. After the press molds are made will be able to use the molds in different ways to accumulate forms and create sculptures. Students can also make damp boxes during this class. A variety of handbuilding techniques will also be covered, including slab work, pinch pots, coiling, and pillow forms. The options are nearly limitless. Students should bring their creativity and a form to mold!
