DW-40-19 Explorations in a Body of Work in Ceramics with Danielle Wood

Description:

EXPLORATIONS IN A BODY OF WORK IN CERAMICS with Danielle Wood

Students will continue the body of work that they are exploring. Students will try new sculptural and glaze techniques to add to their artistic practice. It is beneficial as an artist to have a body of work that shows a solid collection of work, style, forms, and color, that the artist is investigating.

In this course, students will be encouraged to continue in this style and explore at a deeper level what influences their work and inspires their artistic practice. Demonstrations will be given with a variety of techniques including slab work, pinch, drape, slump molds, and coil. Various glazing techniques will be explored and experimented with, including lusters, decals, and paper decals. Creation of artist’s statements and documenting work will also be an opportunity in this class. Students are encouraged to bring their creativity and ideas for their clay explorations.
