Intermediate Wheel Throwing with Stephen Bunyard

Let’s make better pots! This twice-a-week class is aimed at advancing student’s throwing skills. Students will focus on making the most of their clay with efficient throwing techniques, and then move on to more advanced forms. Classes will focus on the fine details that define a body of work, with an emphasis on aspects of alteration and decoration. Students will learn more about glazing and how choices are made when forming can enhance the glazing. They will also have the opportunity to learn about the importance of documenting artwork and get a chance to photograph finished works. Most importantly, everyone will have a fun time being creative!

Stephen Bunyard is an experienced potter making wheel thrown work in porcelain. Best known for his illustrated work and sake sets, he puts the fun in the fundamentals. He loves sharing his experiences in clay and mentoring other potters.

Tuesdays & Thursdays | January 9 – February 15, 2024 | No class January 25 | 6 pm – 9 pm | 11 sessions | $415 plus $15 studio fee (required), $20+ for clay (if purchased through Shemer)
